A
Nobleman's social status depends on having money, spending money and appearing
to enjoy life. So. . . spend it they do - on richly embroidered wall hangings,
beautiful clothes, rich foods, gold and silver plate; and on entertaining
a huge company of friends and relations.
The Baron, Sir Richard, owns several castles,
as might be expected of a nobleman in the Eleventh Century. His household
lives in grand style, residing in the Keep at the center of one of his
castles.
